Problem
Video editing work is motion-led, but a portfolio still needs to orient visitors quickly, explain the editor’s range, and create a clear enquiry path. CineGraph needed a calm editorial system that could carry large statements, moving project previews, service context, and contact without feeling like a generic reel directory.
Role and scope
Portfolio website design and front-end development across the home and about experiences, responsive layout, motion-led project presentation, and enquiry-form interface.
Key decisions
- Paired restrained sans-serif typography with expressive editorial italics to give the portfolio a clear visual voice without competing with the video work.
- Structured the home experience around positioning, editing philosophy, services, selected work, and category discovery so visitors can understand both craft and range.
- Used muted, hover-triggered video previews for the desktop work grid, keeping motion tied to visitor intent rather than running every reel at once.
- Extended the same visual system into an about route with services, client placeholders, and a contact-form interface instead of pushing every detail onto one page.
Deliverables
- Responsive home and about experiences
- Editorial typography and motion system
- Video-editing philosophy and service storytelling
- Selected-work preview grid and category discovery
- Contact-form interface
- Live public deployment
Current state
A live, responsive two-route portfolio at cine-graph-pi.vercel.app. The core presentation and interactions are public; selected-work clips currently reuse sample Big Buck Bunny footage, while client names and contact details remain clearly unfinished placeholder content.
